Install Studio
Install VeloPhex Studio with the Developer profile of VeloPhex Setup, check the requirements and start Studio for the first time.
Studio is installed by VeloPhex Setup, the same installer that installs the Robot. Choose the Developer profile: it installs Studio together with the Robot and the VeloPhex Assistant, which Studio needs to run and debug workflows on your machine. System requirements# 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809 (build 17763) or later, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2019 or later. Setup refuses older or 32-bit Windows. Local administrator rights. Setup installs for all users of the machine. About 700 MB of free disk space for Studio, plus room for the package cache as projects restore packages. No .NET runtime or other prerequisite. Studio, the Workflow Executor and the core activity feed are self-contained. For browser automation: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Install Studio# Run VeloPhex Setup-<version>-win-x64.exe and accept the Windows elevation prompt. Choose the Developer profile. Leave browser integration selected if you will automate Chrome or Edge. If your administrator gave you an Orchestrator address and an enrolment key, you can connect the machine during setup. You can also do it later from the Assistant; see Enrol a Robot. Finish the installation. The last page can start Studio for you. For a silent install, pass the profile on the command line from an elevated prompt: Silent installPowerShellCopy& ".\VeloPhex Setup-<version>-win-x64.exe" /quiet PROFILE=Developer # Without browser integration & ".\VeloPhex Setup-<version>-win-x64.exe" /quiet PROFILE=Developer INSTALLBROWSERINTEGRATION=0 A silent install without a valid PROFILE is refused. See Install the Robot on Windows for the other profiles and the enrolment options. Existing per-user StudioSetup refuses the Developer profile while a per-user copy of Studio is installed for your account. Uninstall it from Settings > Apps first. What gets installed# What Where Studio %ProgramFiles%\VeloPhex\Studio Robot, Workflow Executor and the offline activity feed %ProgramFiles%\VeloPhex\Robot Start menu shortcuts VeloPhex Studio and VeloPhex Assistant The offline feed holds the core activity packages, so a new machine can create and run a project without internet access. Studio shows it as the Velophex Studio feed package source. Start Studio for the first time# Start VeloPhex Studio from the Start menu. Studio opens on Home. If no package source can be reached, Studio shows Configure package sources. Check that the Velophex Studio feed is enabled. If you see the notification Not signed in to Orchestrator, you can ignore it for now. You need to sign in only to publish or to use Orchestrator activities in local runs. See Sign in to Orchestrator from Studio. To automate a browser, open Home > Tools > Browser extensions. Each installed browser shows its status. For a browser that is not Ready, select Install extension and follow the steps shown, then select Diagnose to check again. Verify# On Home, select New, then Blank Automation, and select Create. The Explorer should list Main.xaml, and Dependencies should list VeloPhex.System.Activities with no warning. Updates# Studio checks once a day whether a newer release exists and tells you in the notifications. It never downloads or installs anything; to update, run the new VeloPhex Setup. Turn the check off with Settings > General > Check for updates. Your organisation can point it at its own mirror with Settings > Advanced > Update manifest URL. Next steps# Sign in to Orchestrator from Studio. Create a Studio project.
