Portfolio and benefits

Read the portfolio overview, rank opportunities in the Portfolio, link the delivering automation, and read the benefit measured from its runs.

Launchpad keeps two kinds of figures apart: Estimated figures come from the assessment and the process baseline, Measured figures from the linked automation's own runs. They are shown side by side and never added together. You need launchpad_analytics view for the portfolio views on this page. Portfolio overview# Scroll down on Overview to Benefit and Portfolio overview. Benefit lists drifting opportunities, the Measured net benefit of the year to date and the Estimated pipeline benefit per year. Money is shown once an administrator sets the hourly and robot-hour rates; until then the figures are in hours. Portfolio overview counts opportunities (total, new, in review, awaiting decision, in implementation, live, drafts, on hold, closed, business units) and charts them by stage, month, automation type, business unit, category and phase. Filter by Business unit, Category, Type and New in the last 7, 30 or 90 days or a year. Each chart has a table icon that shows its data as a table. Rank the portfolio# Opportunities ▸ Portfolio ranks every submitted opportunity that isn't closed by its priority score, then by votes, then by age. On wide screens an Ease and benefit chart plots ease against annual benefit; a filled point is measured, a hollow one estimated. Select a row to highlight it in the chart. Opportunities that aren't assessed yet are listed last as Not scored, with what they still need. Search and Filters (Stage, Type) narrow the ranking. Views saves the filters. Measured benefit# Link the automation# From the Implementation stage, link the automation that delivers the opportunity. You need to be able to edit the opportunity. Open the opportunity and select the Benefits tab. Select Link an automation and pick the automation. Under Count transactions by, choose the queue whose successful items count as transactions, or Runs of the automation (no queue) and the Transactions per run. Optionally set Allocation (%) when the automation serves several opportunities. Across all opportunities, an automation's allocations add up to at most 100 %. Select Link automation. The opportunity also needs an Average handling time in its process profile; without it the tab asks you to Edit the process baseline. To track an automation that already runs without an opportunity, use Register existing automation. Read the Benefits tab# Figure Meaning Transactions Successful queue items (or successful runs × transactions per run) in the period, times the allocation. Hours saved Transactions × baseline handling minutes ÷ 60. Gross measured Hours saved × the hourly rate. Robot cost The automation's robot time × the robot-hour rate. Measured net Gross measured − robot cost. Choose the period: 30 days, 90 days, Year or Year to date. All days are UTC. Figures are computed by an hourly snapshot. Data through is the last complete day; today is counted so far. Days without data are shown as gaps, never as zero. Administrators can select Run snapshot now. How it is calculated shows every input. Override baseline sets a new handling time from a date, with a reason, without changing earlier days. Drift# When fewer transactions are measured than the estimate expects (below 70 % by default, over at least 14 days and 50 transactions), the opportunity is marked Drifting, and its process owner and followers are notified. Select Acknowledge to record a reason and a date until which the drift is accepted. Find all drifting opportunities with Filters ▸ Benefit ▸ Drifting on the opportunity list. Benefits delivered outside the platform# For an automation that doesn't run on this Orchestrator, add an external delivery on the Benefits tab and enter its actuals per period (transactions and, optionally, hours saved). These hand-entered figures are labelled separately and are never added to the measured figures. Next steps# Assess and score Settings and administration
